K had a Beach Box Burger and I went with the tandoori chicken wrap. My wrap was mostly salad and would have been nicer if there was more balance with the meat. K was pretty happy with her burger The food was OK, but it did take a long time to come out despite it not being particularly busy. Young Bloods Diner is a modern and open space serving (an all-day) breakfast and brunch with a rooftop bar. They were still serving their spring menu when I visited so I was able to try their Roasted Cauliflower Salad with ocean trout and hazelnuts ($15). Fresh and light, with tender and well-seasoned cauliflower, nicely cooked trout and a creamy cauliflower puree, the salad was a joy to eat....

We arrived at around 10:30am on a weekday, and despite the cloudy and slightly drizzly weather, it was quite busy. I ordered the Dukkah eggs - mushrooms, spinach, feta with poached eggs and dukkah on multigrain sourdough bread ($15.5). Tasty mushroom plus runny eggs and good bread made this dish quite enjoyable. The pulled pork sandwich (BBQ braised berkshire pork shoulder with red cabbage slaw on brioche, $14) was also nice, though A2 thought the pulled lamb sandwich from their previous menu may have been better. Located on the corner of Church St and Lincoln St, Tree of Us mainly serves burgers, though they also do breakfast and coffee. I ordered the Fish Burger with crumbed rockling with tomato, lettuce, beetroot, dill mayo and pickle ($15). A2 had the Sweetpea Burger, which was a spiced, sweet potato and chickpea pattie with beetroot relish, caramelised onion, garlic aioli, lettuce ($14). The aroma from the smokers of this American barbecue joint wafted towards us as soon as we stepped through the door. Both of us ordered a meat plate - beef short rib with a side of smoked corn for me and beef brisket with pear and bacon salad for C. The servings were large; we saw some plates of pulled pork go past and the pile of meat sitting on top of the Texas toast was quite impressive. The tender short rib fell off the bone and had a great smokey...
