One of Melbourne's finest Thai restaurants, Jinda Thai, has branched into the cafe scene with Oneyada. Straying from the typical brunch menus of late, their food is inspired by traditional Thai breakfast dishes instead. Oneyada The quaint cafe has a handful of glass-topped tables, all surrounded by rattan chairs. Walls are decorated with paintings created by Fon herself, who completed a Masters in Fine Arts in Thailand....

In a street full of mostly Vietnamese restaurants (it is Victoria Street after all) and a scattering of Thai, a few Korean restaurants have started to appear in the mix. Seoul Soul, Chimac and Arisoo provide a bit of variety in the cuisine available here. In preparation for our holiday to Korea, I wanted to bring my parents to a Korean restaurant to whet their palates. Arisoo is a small, simple restaurant halfway between Collingwood Station and The Hive. Apparently serving authentic home-style dishes, I thought it was the...

Kitty Burns is attracting plenty of attention for its beautiful interior design and eye-catching food. Like Frankie Says, Kitty Burns takes its place within the Sanctuary apartment complex. The interior, courtesy of Biasol: Design Studio, features plenty of pale woods, pastels and white ceramic tiling. Kitty Burn's chef, Aaron Duffy, has been pumping out beautifully presented dishes from a menu that reads so...

After some unexpected delays, Frankie Says is finally open for business. Part of the new, aptly named Sanctuary apartment complex, it's hidden away, right by the Yarra with pleasant and peaceful view of both trees and water. Jinda Thai has a strong reputation for affordable and tasty Thai food and it was time to see what the fuss was about. The tables are very close together and even small tables are aligned to make a sort of communal table. I guess they really have to maximise the space to accommodate the crowds! Perusing the menu, I was drawn to the the boat noodles and the som tum with soft shell crab, and not just because they're popular dishes. I chose beef to go with the boat...
