Right on the corner of Gertrude and Fizroy St, Mighty Boy Eatery serves up Asian-inspired breakfast and lunches for us to enjoy. The roti wraps sounded interesting, but are only available at lunchtime (after 12pm). [caption id="attachment_6616" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] House Baked Eggs ($14)[/caption] I decided to try out the baked eggs, which came with mushrooms, tomatoes, spanish onion, house-made Thai sausage, thai basil, coriander, feta and tabasco. The dish already had some spiciness from the tabasco, but tables are also provided with a variety of different pickled chillies, flaked chilli...

This sushi shop/Japanese grocery store has been on my wishlist for a long time and I finally made it today! They offer a range of sushi including hand rolls, nigiri, nosé maki, hoso maki and futomaki. If your sushi pack of choice isn't already available at the counter the sushi chefs can prepare it fresh, leaving you free to peruse the store (or stare longingly at your order being made). There are also a few seats at the front of the shop for people to eat their sushi. Today...

Addict opened a few months ago, adding to the burgeoning number of cafes in Fitzroy. The pulled pork sandwich appeared to be very popular, but I was suffering from pulled pork fatigue and decided to go down a different route. I ordered the quinoa and chickpeas instead. Being cooked in mushroom stock, the chickpeas and red quinoa were tasty in themselves....

There's quite a number of Japanese eateries to choose from when dining on Smith St, between Johnston Street and Victoria Parade. Today's outing was to Peko Peko. It was a quirky yet cozy place with an upper level that had an huge, open 'window' that looked out over the ground floor and small kitchen. The menu is neatly organised into small, medium and big dishes, offering the usual favourites as well as a few twists like sweet potato gyoza and chili tofu soba. Peko Peko's version of sashimidon was salmon...

Shocolate's inconspicuous frontage is home to one of Melbourne's premium chocolatiers. Although the range of chocolates and macarons on display is not as extensive as larger chocolatiers and patisseries, so many of their offerings sounded so enticing that it didn't really matter. They also have a small cafe-style seating area for people to enjoy their sweet goodies and drinks. I decided to treat myself and bought one of their award-winning Black & White macarons and a Crunchy hazelnut praline chocolate bite. The Black & White was a rather good-looking...
