I completely forgot to post this on time, so my memory of the experience may not be quite accurate. Mum wanted me to try Wonderbao, which she had been hearing many good things about, particularly the pork belly with preserved vegetables. Before embarking on my quest to actually find this little shop, I looked up maps and route descriptions but still managed to get lost momentarily because I walked right past the entrance. The fried silky tofu gua bao was eaten on site as I didn't think it would...

Mum has been hanging out for a paella before she leaves for her overseas trip. After looking at prices for paella at various restaurants we went with Movida Aqui, which had a $63 paella that feeds 2-4 people (other restaurants charged up to $30 pp). Since we were there, we thought we may as well order some tapas and other dishes to supplement our rice meal, though dad isn't a big eater so we refrained from ordering everything that looked interesting. We ordered the rice first, before deciding on...

I'd heard that the udon served at Nama Nama are handmade and have been wanting to visit for a while. I chose the pork udon, whilst mum had a bento. The components mum picked for her bento were: Cabbage and daikon with ponzu mayo, kingfish sahimi, grilled eel onigiri, pork neck roll with sake miso...

Along with the bread was a parmesan, garlic and rosemary infused olive oil, which could be dipped into one of three accompaniments: a Sichuan pepper-based one, a finely milled sugar and chilli one and another with nori, salt, and a few other things. Our favourite was the nori, but the sugar and chilli one was quite nice as long...

I came here for a colleague's farewell, and while the others ordered pizzas, I wasn't able to eat it so I ordered a main instead: lamb back strap, tomato pâté, olive tapenade, baby eggplant, candy peppers. It took quite a long time to arrive - apparently it had been given to the wrong table even though they hadn't ordered it. I saw photos of this dish online and they showed two giant pieces of eggplant, presumably both sides of a whole, however, mine was only half of a skinny...
