The parents brought us to this popular claypot restaurant that they ate at during their last visit to Hong Kong. We ordered fish ball soup and three claypot rice: chicken and mushroom, pork mince and salted fish and a sparerib claypot. All the claypots came with gai lan and there were plenty of lovely crunchy bits at the bottom. The sauce was given in a separate bowl so we added it to our own bowls after taking from the main dish. Our last breakfast in Japan. There were salads, a vermicelli/potato/carrot cold stew, teriyaki mackerel, cured salmon, miso, porridge, rice, soft-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, tofu, frankfurts, a nice selection of interesting breads, cereal (corn flakes, chocolate cereal and granola), lychee, oranges and grapefruit. There was a little bowl of bonito next to the tofu too. [gallery order="DESC" columns="2" ids="1523,1525,1526,1527"]...

Luckily it didn’t take long for four seats in a row to become available. All of us had the ramen and a hard-boiled, salted egg (¥790+100). Mum also added in some ‘laver’, which she believes...

Being our last lunch meal in Japan, I wanted something that I could only get here i.e. a good bowl of Japanese noodles. There was only one noodle store here. A2 got udon with an egg and some mince (it tasted a bit like bolognaise to me, but mum liked this better than the one I ordered). Mine was a black pork udon; both were ¥740. For some reason there were flat bits in the udon, like it got squashed. Mum thought the noodles were nice, but they...
