Brunch today was Shakshouka (baked eggs with roasted peppers and shanklish, $16). Alone, the roasted peppers would have been quite salty but when eaten with the eggs the balance was perfect. The shanklish, a type of cheese, added some bite and I wish there was more of it. I was planning to go somewhere for lunch today but due to a last minute timetable change instated yesterday, I finished uni at 9am. I decided to switch my lunch and brunch appointments around and initially had Manchester Press lined up. After reading up on more reviews for Manchester Press, I noted that the bagel item I wanted to try (the 12-hour pulled pork bagel) was generally accepted as being sweet, so with some sadness I crossed it off the list. Instead, I visited Silo by Joost, which...

This time I arrived at around 10:20am and there was a bit of a queue. Fortunately, because I was brunching solo I only had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat at a round communal table. While waiting I discovered that Silo was directly opposite Hardware Societe, and there was no queue. [caption id="attachment_5587" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Baked Eggs w. I came really early today and it's a weekday during school/uni semester so there wasn't any queue. The dish I was hoping to try was the croque madame (smoked salmon, gruyere, horseradish creme fraiche and fried duck egg), but it didn't appear on the menu. Apparently they changed their menu last week so I came too late. Today the extra food items weren't served in a baguette like...

I've finally gotten around to visiting Three Bags Full, despite the fact that I've been living only a 5 minute drive away for more than 10 years. K and I arrived at 10am, which turned out to be better than the original time of 11am. By the time we left at 11:30 there was quite a queue.
