21 Jul Three Bags Full, Abbotsford
I’ve finally gotten around to visiting Three Bags Full, despite the fact that I’ve been living only a 5 minute drive away for more than 10 years. K and I arrived at 10am, which turned out to be better than the original time of 11am. By the time we left at 11:30 there was quite a queue.
Today I went with the Truffled Eggs (poached eggs on toast with prosciutto, shaved pecorino and white truffle oil, $16). Having a hankering for mushrooms, K ordered the daily special of mushroom and prosciutto ragu with a red pepper coulis, herbs, two poached eggs and toast ($18).
Collectively, our 4 eggs were all poached to runny perfection. The flavours of my pecorino, prosciutto and tuffle oil melded together nicely, and the runny egg helped soften the otherwise dry ingredients, making it easier to eat. The prosciutto in K’s ragu really added depth of flavour with the red pepper coulis introducing a fresh hit.
I enjoyed the food here and would be happy to come back and try more of what they have to offer.
