Collective Espresso is located just off Bourke Road, next to Camberwell Station. Numerous prints lining the walls and the bag hooks for staff give this cafe a warm, homely and welcoming vibe. There are bars seats along the window and near the kitchen, one small table and a long communal table that could accommodate at least 16 people. Today I had the emu burger, which came with cabbage remoulade, cheddar, mustard and pickles on a brioche bun. The tasty emu pattie was slightly dry, particularly around the edges, but the cheddar and...

Ora is a small cafe, known for its good food and coffee. It also has a selection of tasty looking baked goods displayed at the front counter. Unfortunately Ora's popular walnut eggs weren't on the menu, but there were plenty of other intriguing dishes to try, including two specials today. The duck salad special sold out shortly after we arrived.  A2's twice-baked blue cheese souffle was moist and she said it tasted especially good with the fresh salad. The crispy poached egg in the middle was an interesting addition to my veloute,...

Lettuce, BBQ Sauce and Home Made Appleslaw contained a very large serving of pork, which was soft and slightly sweet, and the bagel was dense, chewy and lightly toasted. Because of the amount of pork and denseness of the bagel, I wasn't able to finish all...

I first noticed this café when I was looking out for Bluebird Espresso the other week, as it was just next to the bus stop. While waiting for the bus to get to uni I popped in to have a look at the menu. I was told there wasn’t really a menu that day. The only things they had at that moment were coffee, cakes, brownies and pulled pork jaffles. The café opened about 4 months ago and I felt like I should support smaller cafés, especially since I’d...

Lectures finished early today so it was a good opportunity for us to have an early lunch. Stovetop is located within the Melbourne Graduate School of Education building, which must be very handy for those students. Since they serve breakfast all day I went for a lunch item (available after 11am): Brioche - Corned wagyu beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and seeded mustard in a toasted bun ($14). There were also some pastries, cakes, sandwiches and tarts available for eat-in or take away. I read that many people were disappointed by...
