As a viewer, it's easy to wonder whether how well the contestants on TV cooking competitions can actually cook. Tasia and Gracia Seger were the winners of My Kitchen Rules in 2016, and have since achieved their dream of opening their own restaurant - Makan. I'm pleased to report that their abilities in the kitchen today proved them worthy of their title....

At only 5 months old, Indian fusion restaurant Burger Shurger is making a strong impression. The burger menu has chicken, beef and lamb options, but quite a decent chunk of the menu is vegetarian too. Dishes and sauces in the menu are made using the owner's recipes - the sort of food she might make at home....
It's always pleasant surprise to find restaurant gems that aren't in the city, and Adrian Morrissy wanted to prove that it is possible to keep to the suburbs for good food. Pembroke Bar and Kitchen is his latest venture set in his local neighbourhood, Surrey Hills. The interior, designed by Fiona Lynch, is classy but not uptight, and the large courtyard was the perfect setting for our lunch on this warm and breezy day....
