I've finally gotten around to visiting Three Bags Full, despite the fact that I've been living only a 5 minute drive away for more than 10 years. K and I arrived at 10am, which turned out to be better than the original time of 11am. By the time we left at 11:30 there was quite a queue. In hindsight, I shouldn't have gone for breakfast on the same day I booked myself in for this Scoopon lunch, especially when (much to my dismay) my metabolism is starting to slow down. I know I've been eating out a lot these last few weeks, but I want to take advantage of the quiet part of the semester. [caption id="attachment_5543" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Seafood Paella[/caption] The Scoopon deal was $8 for a choice of paella or a platter of 3 tapas; I opted for the seafood paella. There was a decent amount...

This morning I had one lecture before a 5 hour break, so I decided to drive in for the morning lecture. Since I had the car I thought it'd be a good opportunity to try Twenty & Six Espresso, which is a bit out of the way to walk or get there via public transport. Today I had The Russian: "Vodka & lemon house cured salmon tartare, free range poached egg, dill & lemon creme fraiche, seed & sprout sourdough" ($17.90). Instead of going for lunch today I decided to go for a heavy breakfast at Madame Sousou. I had already decided which item I wanted, which was the Funghi A La Parisienne (toasted brioche w. buttered mushrooms, smashed avocado and goat cheese rondelle) with poached egg ($19.80 + $1.10). [caption id="attachment_5534" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Funghi A La Parisienne - Toasted brioche w. buttered mushrooms, smashed avocado and goat cheese rondelle[/caption] I'm not usually one for brioche because I find it a bit rich for a bread, but in this case it...

Generally when I visit Italian restaurants for dinner my choices are limited to either salad or a large piece of meat. Today I opted for the light option of a chicken salad (Grilled Chicken, Lettuce, Tomato, Olives, Cucumber, Red Onions, Balsamic Vinegar and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, $19.90). The salad tasted OK but the chicken breast was overdone. It was expensive for what it was, but I've come to expect that from salads.
