In hindsight, I shouldn’t have gone for breakfast on the same day I booked myself in for this Scoopon lunch, especially when (much to my dismay) my metabolism is starting to slow down. I know I’ve been eating out a lot these last few weeks, but I want to take advantage of the quiet part of the semester.
The Scoopon deal was $8 for a choice of paella or a platter of 3 tapas; I opted for the seafood paella.
There was a decent amount of seafood: 2 mussels, 2 clams, 2-3 calamari rings and a few small prawns and shrimp. It also contained capsicum, onions and peas. The flavour, however, was nothing special and there was so much liquid it was almost like soupy rice. The amount of gravy also meant there was no socorrat to speak of. There was another customer who also ordered seafood paella, presumably not using a Scoopon. His serve of rice was nearly double and had 3 mussels. Because the rice was piled so high I couldn’t tell if his had as much liquid as mine did.
