It's now summer, and time for new dishes to hit the menu at Sardi. There are a few additions, but three in particular catch our eye, and there's something new for everyone. The more traditional cafe-goer gets a new Eggs Benny. Ham hock, broccolini and eggs are piled on top of brioche and slathered in an apple cider and asparagus hollandaise. It's a tasty and different take on the benedict....

Sardi has long been a local favourite. Having opened in 2014, they recently expanded the back section to accommodate its growing clientele. The new section is bright, courtesy of the large windows, but the furnishings maintain consistency throughout the whole cafe. To go along with its newly expanded interior, Sardi has also started displaying and selling artwork from a former staff member, Hayley June Walker from Wet Paint Fine Arts....

I've driven past Sardi many times, seen how busy it was and for some reason initially thinking it was a small Italian restaurant. Eventually I came to realise it was actually a cafe, and decided to pop by on one of my free days. It's small and tight inside, and busy but cosy.
