One of Melbourne's finest Thai restaurants, Jinda Thai, has branched into the cafe scene with Oneyada. Straying from the typical brunch menus of late, their food is inspired by traditional Thai breakfast dishes instead. Oneyada The quaint cafe has a handful of glass-topped tables, all surrounded by rattan chairs. Walls are decorated with paintings created by Fon herself, who completed a Masters in Fine Arts in Thailand....

Lt Osteria is a new name on the streets but it's not technically new, more of a metamorphosis. Started originally as Cafe Salida three years ago, the cafe has been completely rebranded with a tighter focus on good Italian food in a warm and friendly environment. Zwei Interiors Architecture has nailed the redesign. The blonde timbers, timber frames, overhanging plants and splashes of eggshell blue impart the cosy and welcoming atmosphere they were after....

Despite its simple decor, the cafe doesn't feel cold with its blond plywood, pops of plantlife and warm lighting. For milky hot drinks there are matcha lattes and the roasted tea-based houjicha latte...

A trip to the US, learning from pit masters about their craft, has resulted in Chris Terlikar birthing a baby of his own - Bluebonnet Barbeque. After a devastating fire at his original Collingwood restaurant, Terlikar soldiered on to take up a temporary residency at Carlton’s John Curtin Hotel. Now found at the former site of The North Fitzroy Star, Terlikar is continuing to pump out smokey American Barbeque. Australian meats are smoked in-house for up to 14 hours. Sausages and barbecue sauce is also made on-site....
