The writer’s musings are a reflection of Khodja’s own life journey up to this point, particularly after his near death experience in his Mornington restaurant 15 years ago....

The Long Room, the long-time haunt for after work drinks, was rebranded to The George on Collins earlier this year. Gutted and completely refurbished, the slick and modern interior was designed by Hecker Guthrie. Crisp white walls and ceilings brighten up the basement space. The bar takes centre stage, encircled by tables. Booths run around the perimeter, complete with curtains if you want that extra bit of privacy....

The Modern Eatery has arrived from the Western shores of Australia. Their two locations in Perth are popular, and now we only need to take a trip down Swan Street to try their fare. The Modern Eatery specialises in aburi sushi, the type seared by the flame of a blowtorch. Many of TME's menu items comes with a modern twist, and there are interesting touches of creativity in the dishes...

Taking inspiration from the biker bars and bosozoku culture in Japan, Bosozoku HQ comes complete with karaoke, a Nintendo 64 room, pool table and a dry-ice ‘onsen’.
