All the restaurants on level 7 had long queues. We took a ticket for Imasuke and waited over an hour, during which we decided what we were going to order. The parents brought us to this popular claypot restaurant that they ate at during their last visit to Hong Kong. We ordered fish ball soup and three claypot rice: chicken and mushroom, pork mince and salted fish and a sparerib claypot. Our last breakfast in Japan. There were salads, a vermicelli/potato/carrot cold stew, teriyaki mackerel, cured salmon, miso, porridge, rice, soft-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, tofu, frankfurts, a nice selection of interesting breads, cereal (corn flakes, chocolate cereal and granola), lychee, oranges and grapefruit. After our claypot dinner we walked through the flea market and tasted a mango and cream crepe from this rather popular stall. The next day I was passing through the same street and decided to try a meat mince/preserved vegetable bun, which they’re famous for (13HKD) and a red bean “teeth” pastry (6HKD). I’ve heard that the ramen at Ichiran is among the best in Fukuoka and that it had a unique eating experience. I was desperate to try it. We filled out the English order forms at the front, paid for our meal tickets at the machine then waited for some booths to empty out.
