The Post has been serving local pub goers since 1893, but times have changed, and though it looks like a regular pub on the outside, it has evolved into a modern gastro-pub, with a bar, restaurant and beer garden. Horse Bazaar is an casual izakaya on Little Lonsdale St, and it's just celebrated its 10th birthday. Only one door down from the Hardware Street junction, it offers cocktails, beers, ciders, wines, spirits and special Japanese imports. Kumo Izakaya & Sake Bar was just named best Japanese Restaurant in the Victorian metro region by Savour Australia and I was recently invited to a sake tasting dinner held at Kumo, hosted by owner, Andre Bishop. Co-owners Emily Bitto and Nathen Doyle, also responsible for Wide Open Road and A Minor Place, opened up Heartattack and Vine earlier this year.
