We had lunch in the Jewish quarter on rue des Rosiers. It was an old Jewish bakery called Sacha Finkelsztajn, which was pretty popular, though small. We had a spinach and capsicum borek (€5.80), salmon piroshky (€3.80) and an eggplant piroshky (€3.80). In hindsight, the borek was expensive but at least it was nice and there was a lot of filling. Mum also bought a small challah for €1.10 to have as part of breakfast tomorrow. [gallery columns="2" link="file" type="rectangular" ids="5460,5461,5462,5463,5464,5470"]...

Found opposite Robot Bar, just off Flinders Lane, Mugen Ramen serves up ramen, small dishes, drinks and, according to the menu, Japanese tapas-style dishes are coming soon. Tsukemen is served and eaten differently from regular ramen, in that the noodles come separately from the sauce, which is made for dipping. Instructions are found on the back of the...

My choice for lunch was the warmed lamb wrap ($19). Other dishes ordered were arancini, chicken and vegetable pie, chicken burger and summer salad. The balance in this wrap was much better than the chicken wrap from yesterday. The pesto marinated lamb was tender and flavourful, going nicely with the yoghurt sauce and tabouli. K had a Beach Box Burger and I went with the tandoori chicken wrap. My wrap was mostly salad and would have been nicer if there was more balance with the meat. K was pretty happy with her burger The food was OK, but it did take a long time to come out despite it not being particularly busy. Young Bloods Diner is a modern and open space serving (an all-day) breakfast and brunch with a rooftop bar. They were still serving their spring menu when I visited so I was able to try their Roasted Cauliflower Salad with ocean trout and hazelnuts ($15). Fresh and light, with tender and well-seasoned cauliflower, nicely cooked trout and a creamy cauliflower puree, the salad was a joy to eat....
