Glutard-friendly Italian restaurants aren't easily come by, so Pizza Farro really stands out with its offer of low gluten and gluten-free Italian fare. 100% Australian organic spelt flour is used in all their pizza, bread and pasta, and although spelt is low gluten rather than non-gluten, Pizza Farro also provides gluten free pizza bases, with prior notice. The pizza menu features flavour combinations that are quite different from the norm, though those exist too. Bases are made on-site daily before being adorned with toppings and cooked in their...

Good company and a good meal - catch-ups over food are one of the pleasures of life, and the bright, sunny weather today was the icing on the cake. It was time for a catch-up with S, and wanting to pick a place somewhere in between us, we settled on Touchwood. I haven't visited the Night Noodle Markets since its debut year. The horror queues, stifling crowds and deficiency in seating areas (even bare grass) scared me off returning. After a venue change and better prepared event organisers and food stalls, the rumours of improved crowd mangagement coaxed me back in for a mosey around this extremely popular food festival. The Melbourne Night Noodle Markets this year featured 57 stalls, three bars, and a running time of 18 days. There was a mix of veterans like Hoy Pinoy and Wonderbao,...

I didn't even know Bayte had closed down until I saw the Son in Law shop signs start to pop up. I was a little sad to see Bayte go, but having heard interesting things about this newcomer I paid it a visit one late night. Tony Rungapradit and his wife, Oh, opened up Son in Law after owning Chapel Street’s Ayatana. The menu offers contemporary and affordable Thai cuisine, and a bar. It's retained the split-level design and outdoor seating area from Bayte. As well as creative...
