For this visit I decided to try one of the dishes on their 'signature menu'. This was sake-poached blue grenadier with soba, snow peas and carrots. I came across about four of these 'twin almonds' today after eating a whole lot of un-shelled nuts. Now when I see concave-shaped almonds in the bag I'll know where they come from. It's the first time I've seen two nuts in one shell (apart from ground nuts) and I used to think it was pretty unusual, but I found so many in the same bag so maybe not....

Tomodachi recently changed its name to Japas to reflect the change in their menu. The name is a blend of "Japanese" and "tapas".
