08 Nov Trillium, South Melbourne
Melbourne has recently become obsessed with breakfast and smoothie bowls, and Trillium caters to the crowd. The menu is short and sweet, focussing on their signature smoothie bowls, which come in both cold and warm varieties.
The Dragon Smoothie Bowl with pitaya, watermelon, orange juice, mango, coconut water, kiwi, raspberry, and buckwheat granola is light and refreshing, and not too sweet. My favourite though, is the Banana Brulee – a warm bowl of buckwheat, peanut butter, almond milk, coconut, maple, and bee pollen. Crunchy buckinis scattered on top make the dish. As well as their bowls, there are a few other items on the menu such as Apple Pie Porridge and Congee.
The bowls at Trillium are unexpectedly large and very filling, and are sure to please the smoothie bowl lovers.
