16 Jul The Beer & Burger Bar, Richmond
No prizes for guessing what The Beer & Burger Bar specialises in; the name says it all. It’s in a great location, being right near Richmond station and Olympic Park, and their weekly specials, lunch deals and rotating specials menu (including a game burger!) keeps things dynamic.
For those with an appetite, The B.O.B. might just fit the bill. This huge stack contains a beef pattie, a thick piece of southern fried chicken, double bacon, pineapple, jalapenos, double American cheese, lettuce, tomato and cola BBQ sauce. The chicken is cooked nicely, and the pattie has plenty of beefy flavour, and we get to enjoy more of that in the Pastrami Cheese Burger. The Beer & Burger Bar has quite a number of non-beef options too, including the Middle Eastern-leaning Slow-cooked Lamb Burger with pulled lamb, smoked bacon, tomato, rocket, red onion, feta, harissa and yoghurt.
We order some tasty sides to go with the burgers – the crumbed eggplant chips exhibit a perfect crunch, and the eggplant within is almost molten. Waffle fries always draw my attention, and the Loaded Waffle Fries special with beer cheese sauce, bacon, red onion and fresh chilli don’t disappoint. Those chunky waffle fries are the perfect vehicle for the big pieces of bacon.
Whether it’s for a pre-entertainment meal or a specific visit, The Beer & Burger Bar will satisfy your burger cravings.
