28 Dec La Noces de Jeannette, Paris, France
The Illumination and dinner excursion (€66) left the hotel at 6:00pm. On the bus we drove past a few landmarks including the opera house then were dropped off at La Noces de Jeannette, the restaurant where we would be having dinner.
Starting drink: kir (wine with berry syrup)
Entrée: salad with terrine de saint jacques (scallop) or six escargot (unshelled) with basil, garlic and olive oil
Mains: duck with orange sauce or beef bourginion both with spinach and a potato stack
Dessert: nougat ice cream with raspberry sauce and nut pieces on top (couldn’t taste the nougat) and chocolate cake with white sauce (light layers of chocolate cake [almost like sponge] with chocolate sauce in between).
After the main course we were each given a wedge of Brie and Pecorino cheese. Drinks were included and bottle of white and red wine was provided for each table.
