07 Jan I Bo Bun, Bordeaux
On rue des Augustins, just off from Place Général Sarrail, mum spotted a restaurant called I Bo Bun. At first she thought it was a bao restaurant, but it was actually a Chinese restaurant with some decently priced lunch set menus (less than €9). Mum needed another Asian fix. The other alternative was the Vietnamese restaurant near the apartment, but this suited her better. We ordered suan cai yu (the preserved veggie and fish soup with chili and Sichuan peppers, €15) and a braised eggplant dish (€7.90), both of which were very satisfying. Mum and dad also ordered two bowls of rice (€1.50 each), which were about twice the size of a regular Chinese bowl of rice.
