10 Apr Good Times Milk Bar, Bentleigh
Cornerstone-cum-cafe Good Times Milk Bar is a colourful place to be. It’s quite a large place, and even has a grassy area at the back for kids and dogs to play in.
The Spaghettini immediately catches our eye, and it’s surprising how large the serve is. In fact, all the dishes we order today are large. The spaghettini is lubricated by the bottarga butter, and the salty white fish provides much of the seasoning. There’s plenty of pippies and Mooloolaba crab stirred through the pasta too.
The Moroccan Eggplant has harissa, lamb, poached egg, smoked labneh and hazelnut dukkah. Though the eggplant could be more tender, the lamb nice and soft, and not overpowering in taste. The harissa brings a good kick of spice. The Roasted Cauliflower Salad is a great vegetarian pick – the cauliflower has some nice charring on the surface, and extra flavours comes in from the crispy fried onions.
Good Times Milk Bar seems to be becoming a popular destination for locals. It’ll soon be opening in the evening for burgers, increasing its appeal even more.
