03 Jun Good Food and Wine Show 2017, Melbourne
The Good Food and Wine Show returned to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for 2017, and as with previous years, it was an opportunity to discover new foods, new wines and the latest products.
Celebrity chefs and restaurateurs shared their expertise at the Good Food Theatre, and people also had the opportunity to lunch with some big ‘M’ names including Manu Feildel, Matt Moran, Miguel Maestre, Marion Gratsby, Matt Stone and Matt Wilkinson. Classes were run on cheese appreciation, wine masterclasses, and even pizza, taught by Johnny Di Francesco from 400 Gradi himself.
Wine and cheese occupied dedicated sections of the hall, whilst other products could be found at the Good Food Village – everything from fresh produce, muesli and baked goods, to salts, oils and other condiments. Some of these artisan producers don’t keep their products in retail supermarkets, so it was a chance to try and buy new things.
A pop-up dining precinct had Hunter & Barrel, Mister Bianco, Burma Lane and Red Spice Road bringing restaurant dishes to hungry show-goers. VIP ticket holders could rest their feet and re-energise with small meals and champagne at the Tattinger lounge and oyster bar.
There are plenty of things to taste and purchase, especially if you’re a wine and cheese lover. Here’s to GFWS 2018.
