11 Feb Gami, Melbourne CBD
Gami has long been regarded as serving some of the best KFC (that’s Korean Fried Chicken) in Melbourne. A few new dishes have made their way to the menu, and we come to indulge in both new and old.
Lovers of both corn and oozy, stringy cheese will appreciate the Corn Cheese with its seasoned corn kernels blanketed in a layer of seared cheese. Though I’m not quite into the sweetness of the corn here, it’s a big hit around the rest of the table.
The humble spud can be enjoyed in multiple forms in the Wedges with Mashed Potato, separated by a layer of melted cheese. The heaviness of the dish is brightened up by sour cream. Potato on potato goodness. For something less carby there’s always the Kimchi Pancake.
Coming to their specialty, we have the KFC. Popular flavours are the Original Fried, Sweet Chilli, and Soy Garlic. I’m personally a soy garlic fan. As per standard, cubed, pickled daikon is provided to break up the oiliness of the batter. A newer item is the Chicken Spare Ribs, which are still superbly juicy, but a little easier to eat.
The KFC at Gami is still top notch, but the available of other food items provide some variety for those who want it.
