Shoppers can get their chocolate fix right at Emporium at the family-owned Chokolait. A range of hand-crafted chocolates, cakes, ice creams, desserts and drinks are available for selection at this small boutique.
Various dessert ‘indulgences’ can be purchased individually. Alternatively, you can experience a tasting platter instead. We go for the latter. Ours includes moist chocolate mud cake and a sticky date pudding, both served with a single scoop of vanilla ice cream. The desserts are OK, but we’re really here for the chocolate. Indulging in their Hot Chokolait is almost like drinking liquidified chocolate, similar to the thick, Spanish-style beverage. I personally prefer the slightly more bitter dark chocolate over the sweeter milk chocolate version. A box of chocolates is purchased to continue the chocolate experience at home.
The hot chocolate at Chokolait is a treat, and it’s a convenient place to pick up some quality, carefully crafted chocolates to indulge in.
