Walking down the stairs we were greeted by a simple, bright green sign displaying ezard's name. As usual, we were provided with bread, which was continually supplied throughout the night. Along with the bread was a parmesan, garlic and rosemary infused olive oil, which could be dipped into one of three accompaniments: a Sichuan pepper-based one, a finely milled sugar and chilli one and another with nori, salt, and a few other things. Our favourite was the nori, but the sugar and chilli one was quite nice as long...

I came here for a colleague's farewell, and while the others ordered pizzas, I wasn't able to eat it so I ordered a main instead: lamb back strap, tomato pâté, olive tapenade, baby eggplant, candy peppers. It took quite a long time to arrive - apparently it had been given to the wrong table even though they hadn't ordered it. I saw photos of this dish online and they showed two giant pieces of eggplant, presumably both sides of a whole, however, mine was only half of a skinny...

To celebrate the end of exams we headed out to Kenji - a Japanese restaurant mum has been wanting to try for ages. I'd heard good things about this restaurant chain and I knew it was very popular, with queues of people making it hard to get a seat. Apparently there are many outlets in Malaysia, but I've honestly never seen it before.  I'd also heard it served quite authentic Malaysian food so I was keen to try it out. If I'd gone for lunch I might have tried the wat tan hor or char kway teow, but being dinner, I thought nasi lemak would be easier. The first thing I noticed was...

This modern Mexican-inspired restaurant is just down from Sapore. It was quite small and cozy inside. There may have been an outdoors seating area, but I couldn't see out the door. About a third of the floor was taken up by the bar and open kitchen. Having an open kitchen meant it felt more inviting and casual, which was a lovely atmosphere. This is what we had: Soft tacos: - Corn Battered Snapper, Pico de Gallo, Avocado and Coriander - Sugar Cured Spanish Mackerel, Cucumber, Radish, Pico de Gallo and Avocado Ceviche: - Scallops...
