Bowery to Williamsburg can be a little hard to find because of its downplayed shopfront, but it still becomes quite busy at lunchtime as it fills up with people who know where to get a good sandwich. This New York-inspired eatery, styled after a subway station, is by the same team who brought us the venerable Hardware Societe. What a wonderful feeling it is to reach the end of written exams and have the freedom to spend time on a lazy lunch. It was set to be a very hot Spring day today, so before we became too lethargic to venture outside, mum and I popped into Who's Harry for an early lunch. To celebrate its third birthday, Ribs & Burgers were offering a $3 birthday burger at all its stores so I thought it would be a good opportunity to check it out. I was told that the birthday burger was pretty much the same as the regular cheeseburger but without lettuce or tomato. For a long-awaited and much-needed catchup, Allium seemed like the perfect place. Having previously tried Livingroom, I was pleased to find the ambience was still very much like it was previously - nice but relaxed. K had the Aromatic Broth entree to start the meal.
