A trip to the US, learning from pit masters about their craft, has resulted in Chris Terlikar birthing a baby of his own - Bluebonnet Barbeque. After a devastating fire at his original Collingwood restaurant, Terlikar soldiered on to take up a temporary residency at Carlton’s John Curtin Hotel. Now found at the former site of The North Fitzroy Star, Terlikar is continuing to pump out smokey American Barbeque. Australian meats are smoked in-house for up to 14 hours. Sausages and barbecue sauce is also made on-site....

Other than the cryptic 'X' cube out the front, there's really no other indication that the dark grey facade hides a meat-focused eatery behind it. Adam Goldblatt and Tom and Sam Peasnell are the trio behind the venture, and with experience including Chin Chin, Three Bags Full, MoVida, Auction Rooms, and London pitmasters Pitt Cue Co, there are plenty of reasons to get excited....

Taking over from the former site of Mutti's and following on from their success at their Richmond taqueria Chingon, and Collingwood smokehouse and bar Le Bon Ton, brothers Will and Mick Balleau have created yet another restaurant. By day it's 5 Points Deli, but come night time Longhorn Saloon offers drinks, bar snacks, mains and meat from the grill. The space has quite a character, with its wood panelling, pendant lights and pressed copper-lined walls. I really did feel like I'd been transported to another place. The 5 Points...
