Today we ordered a dinner-time food delivery from a local takeaway restaurant in Kew East via Menulog. Browsing the different cuisines on offer, Indian appealed to us the most on this occasion, so we chose Preeti Indian Takeaway. We ordered beef vindaloo, fish madras and some lemon rice to accompany our curries. The beef vindaloo was really good, with soft meat and a nice, tangy kick from the vinegar. The lemon rice was also done very well and the fish in the madras curry tasted quite fresh. We did...

Even though I walk past, or at least look at, this shopfront at least once a week, it took me years to realise that the name of this restaurant had changed from Dessert House Eatery to D House Cafe. In fact, I didn't discover this until today, much to my embarrassment. I didn't have a chance to peruse the menu too carefully, but from what I could see the menu was still similar to what it was many years ago, which was when I last dined here. Deciding to...

Not feeling that hungry, I picked cold tofu with minced meat sauce. An entrée of Taiwanese popcorn chicken was shared by the table. The tofu was smooth and fresh but I didn't find the sauce to be particularly flavoursome - adding some chilli made it nicer. The crispy yet juicy Taiwanese popcorn chicken was much better. I haven't been to any Korean restaurants away from the CBD so I was interested to see how this one compared. The price was comparable to the city joints I've visited so far, but the food was better than most. We ordered soondubu jjigae, spicy pork belly and squid and haemul jeongol for two (also available for three). All the dishes were tasty and satisfying with a nice and spicy kick from chilli powder. I also liked the slightly charred flavour in the osam bulgogi. It was quite a...

Pho Nom opened last month in the new Emporium shopping centre on Lansdale St. Their most popular menu items appeared to be the pho, rice paper rolls and banh mi, though they also serve some bún (vermicelli rice noodles) and cơm (rice) dishes, spring rolls and salads. After ordering and collecting a receipt/docket, food is served at the other end of the counter where there were also self-serve trays of mint, bean sprouts, cut chilli and lemon wedges and also tubs of rice paper roll sauces. Sriracha and...
