02 May Cafe Corretto, Carlton
I quite like saltimbocca so I thought I’d give it a go here. What came out was not what I’d been visualising when I ordered. It seemed like the ham had been tossed with the veal rather than being layered on top and I also couldn’t see any sage leaves. Although the meat was very hot, the surrounding sauce had already started to congeal when it was placed on the table; it didn’t look particularly appetising. The flavours were still OK, though not outstanding, and at least the veal wasn’t overcooked, but it isn’t something I’d order again.
