21 Aug Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co., Melbourne CBD
Betty’s Burgers arrived in Melbourne late last year. Originating from Noosa, It’s one of Queensland’s most popular chains, and brings along American-style burgers, thick shakes and concretes. Staff welcome customers at the door and explain what’s the go: after placing your order, buzzers will let you know when it’s ready to collect from the pick up point.
The burger menu is short and sweet. We try the Betty’s Classic Deluxe, which is the Classic with the addition of bacon. The charred patty isn’t particularly thick, but it’s still juicy and slightly pink, and the burger as a whole isn’t overly greasy.
The Betty’s Classic Stack is also similar to the Classic, but adds in crisp fried mushrooms filled with melted Gouda and Gruyére. The piping hot cheese oozes out after biting in. It’s delicious. To go with the burgers are sides including French fries, and the crispy beer battered onion rings that contain sweet, soft and translucent onion.
Betty’s concretes are also worth a try. There are as many concretes on the menu as there are burgers, but they can also be fully customised. The texture is a little like a thick, creamy and smooth soft serve, and it’s the perfect sweet ending to a visit to Betty’s Burgers.
