I've been wanting to try Etto ever since it opened. The concept of fresh, handmade pasta cooked to order and in a quick, casual manner was very appealing. First you pick the sauce, the serving size, then the pasta. Pizza and sides like garlic bread, salads and wagyu polpette are also available. Not too long ago Gorski and Jones and Smith St Alimentari, both owned by Meaghan Gorski and Paul and Linda Jones, were combined to form a single space. Noir serves French cuisine in a modern and neat setting and was recently awarded one chef's hat by the Good Food Guide. For midday dining there are lunch specials for $18, as well as the four course tasting menu, with a glass of wine for $35. Today I decided to go for the tasting menu. I've been longing to visit Mister Bianco ever since Svago closed down, hearing many good things about its tasty Southern Italian fare. I did want to try Svago too, but obviously that opportunity is long gone. After facing a ridiculously long wait at another no-bookings restaurant, we decided to change our dinner venue to MoVida Next Door, MoVida's little bar companion. After a wait of just over an hour, we settled down to try out some of their tapas and raciones. The seafood is displayed at counters near the door and is cooked to order.
