Not too long ago Gorski and Jones and Smith St Alimentari, both owned by Meaghan Gorski and Paul and Linda Jones, were combined to form a single space. It caters for both take away and seated dining, as well as retaining its specialty grocery store function - ready-made meals, takeaway roasts, cakes, sweets, salads, paninis, fresh bread, cheese, jam, sauces and other Italian products are available for sale. The warm weather today meant the courtyard tables at the back were very popular, with fans hanging above keeping the...

I've been longing to visit Mister Bianco ever since Svago closed down, hearing many good things about its tasty Southern Italian fare. Their main dining room is capable of seating up to 40 guests and there are also two private rooms upstairs and two outdoors tables at the back, ready for alfresco dining. Because there was a function on downstairs we were fortunate enough to dine one of the more intimate and quiet private rooms. After an...

Of the two types of bread I particularly enjoyed the...

I managed to try different pizzas this time - the San Daniele and ai Porcini. The San Daniele had a very tomatoey flavour, but it was mellowed out by the mozzarella, and the truffle oil was wonderful with the mushrooms. I also quite liked the farro salad, which had great textures and a nice punchiness from the goats cheese.
