This visit was with mum, who ordered the spicy pork dosirak. I went with kimchi udon. I can't remember which one was $11 and which was $13. I quite enjoyed the texture and chew of the udon noodles. I haven't had udon like that for a while.   Seoul Soul 323 Victoria St Abbotsford, VIC, 3067 0478 768 760 http://www.seoulsoul.com.au/ ...

Time to try the bibimbap! My eyes gravitated towards the stone-cooked (dolsot) version such that I don't even remember the price of the non-stone cooked ("cold", but actually room temperature) version. The beef dolsot bibimbap was $13. I said yes to both, and she subsequently made a circle of oil and a zigzag of chilli sauce on top....

Located in the Hive building, but with an entrance onto Victoria Street, Seoul Soul has received many positive reviews. Though I'm partial to bibimbap I thought I'd try something different and went with the spicy ddok bok ki instead. The ddok bok ki also came in a soy version, but the waitress recommended this one. The smooth and chewy rice cakes were nicer than the Chinese-style rice cakes, and the spicy sauce was tasty. The ddok bok ki came with a spring roll, a samosa-like thing and another...

Today I visited to the Abbotsford Convent Supper Market, which is held on Friday nights during summer months. There were a few stalls open, which included vendors selling candles, jewellery, organic dried fruits and handmade leather notebooks. Lentils As Anything, Kappaya and Convent Bakery were open and busy with patrons. There weren't as many food stalls as I thought there'd be. I really wanted to try the gozleme stall, but it didn't make an appearance. Other than the restaurants, there was a Mexican stall, Himalayan Sherpa (which has a restaurant...

My first visit to Convent Bakery in the Abbotsford Convent, despite living around the area for 8 years. I ordered the chicken burger in foccacia bread with capsicum sauce, aioli, tomato & guacamole ($13). I swapped out the chips for salad instead. Mum tried one of the specials of the day, which was porterhouse steak ($15). It was quite a busy place, with most people popping in for coffee, bread or other baked goods. I'm guessing quite a lot of their business comes from the office-workers working on Johnston street. I...
