I picked Pepper Lunch as the place to go as a sort of post-exam 'celebration'. Also because I happened to get a $5-off coupon from the back of my grocery receipt. Ingredients for the order are assembled on hot plates, but the rest of the cooking is controlled by the customer. The DIY concept is an interesting one - customers can't complain their food is under- or overdone! Shortly after placing...

Salon de Sushi is a small sushi shop but though the seating is limited, it's cosy and cafe-like. Interestingly, Salon de Sushi also does delivery, claiming to be the first online sushi business in Melbourne. There are some ready-made packs of sushi, salads, desserts and drinks in the chilled section. At the moment they have a lunch special for $16.90, which includes specific ready-made sushi packs (normally ~$15.90), salad and miso soup. After ordering a drink from the menu, a variety of 'tapas' are served while you enjoy your drink (hopefully with some company). Today's offerings were white fish maki, kingfish sashimi, sweet and sour squid and vegetables, corn balls and miso black cod. Unsurprisingly, the black cod was the highlight of the five...
