Today the Hawthorn Spudbar store had a free upgrade to sweet potato - a saving of $1.80. Both A2 and I got custom-made spuds. Me - spinach, mushrooms, pumpkin, a double helping of tabouli (quinoa, bourghal, chopped almonds, sultanas and mint leaves) with their special balsamic vinegar and honey dressing A2 - spinach, mushrooms, cheese, pumpkin, tabouli, tomatoes The spud was chopped into bits with a pair of scissors then the toppings were added on top. I noticed that the black and red dine-in bowls looked very similar to the ones...

I came across about four of these 'twin almonds' today after eating a whole lot of un-shelled nuts. Now when I see concave-shaped almonds in the bag I'll know where they come from. It's the first time I've seen two nuts in one shell (apart from ground nuts) and I used to think it was pretty unusual, but I found so many in the same bag so maybe not....

Got to try another type of mango because they were $1 each at Toscano's. I liked the Honey Gold mangoes better than Calypso. Their texture is similar to Kensington Pride and do seem to have a sweet, honey-like taste....

Visited the Queen Vic Markets today to check prices on quinoa. While searching I saw blackberries, two 125g punnets for $5. I haven't tried fresh blackberries before so I thought I'd give them a go. Can't really describe what they taste like, but the sweet ones have a more intense 'berry taste' than sweet blueberries....
