Located in the Upper Yarra Valley region in Seville, Payne's Rise winery has a lovely, quaint charm to it. I attended a wedding here and got to try out the light lunch they offered. I had a curried egg roll and another with tandoori chicken. Bowery to Williamsburg can be a little hard to find because of its downplayed shopfront, but it still becomes quite busy at lunchtime as it fills up with people who know where to get a good sandwich. This New York-inspired eatery, styled after a subway station, is by the same team who brought us the venerable Hardware Societe. There isn't a whole lot of seating, most of which is communal, but fortunately they do takeaway too. All sandwiches are priced at $13 and for an extra $4 they'll add...

What a wonderful feeling it is to reach the end of written exams and have the freedom to spend time on a lazy lunch. We took a casual stroll over to Spring St Grocer to indulge in ice cream and explore the interesting things they had for sale. I ended up picking a roll from the premium selection....

I quite enjoyed this panini, filled with tender slices of beef, tasty caramelised onion and tangy mustard. It was a good, lighter option for lunch and I was also able to get it toasted. On a previous visit, I had pan-fried, crispy skinned salmon with salad ($13.50), which was wonderfully cooked. I've only been here twice, but so far Lot 6 has not failed to impress! Beef Panini w. Time for a revisit, but this time I tried the Kid Royale (Smoked Hickory Rub, Slow Roasted Beef w. Onion Jam, Honey Dijon, Baby Spinach, Crispy Onion Rings). If the Brklyn was difficult to eat, this one was even harder with the onion rings sitting on top. I ate them separately. The slow roasted beef was very moist and tender and I enjoyed the flavours of the Kid Royale more than the Brklyn.[caption id="attachment_5119" align="aligncenter" width="529"] Kid Royale[/caption]Hero 1 Stewart St Melbourne, VIC, 3000 (03) 9995 4655 http://www.herosubs.com.au/...
