Chill Bro Paletas are branching out from their namesake and have started selling another Mexican sweet favourite - churros! Mexican churros use regular sugar rather than the castor sugar used in their Spanish cousins. The bite-sized churros come with dipping sauce and toppings, or drizzled over in dulce de leche caramel sauce. Alternatively, they can be found in basket form, holding scoops of ice cream for a simultaneously hot and cold treat. The duo behind Joylati are certainly not newbies when it comes to gelato. Cristino Vedovato and Fabrizio Locatelli ran a successful gelateria in Piedmont in northern Italy for 15 years, shortly before relocating to Melbourne. Their desire to replicate authentic, artisinal gelati in Melbourne gave birth to the newest gelateria in town. A chocolate waterfall frozen in motion is positioned behind the counter, and a chocolate tap is on hand to fill up those waffle cones with liquid goodness. After making a worldwide impression, South Korea's Milkcow has now landed in Australia, at least for a short time via its pop-up in The Strand. Stokers used to be a two store affair, but the land where the original Ivanhoe restaurant sat had to be cleared and developed into apartments.
