I'm not normally one for buying cupcakes, but since I was in the area and had an Entertainment Book voucher I thought I might as well. It took me a while to find it because I mistakenly walked into the complex that housed the Safeway rather than up the ramp towards Glenferrie Station. I'd assumed the voucher was the same deal as the one from the new book - one for half the regular price. It wasn't until I was literally it handing over that I realised the soon-to-expire...

Another trip to Gelato Messina! The pandan and coconut sorbet (unsurprisingly) tastes like kaya, so if I were ever having a craving for kaya that's what I'd get. Gianduia Bianco (white chocolate & hazelnut gelato with hazelnut praline), was quite nice too, but I think if I ate a whole scoop of it I'd feel it was too sweet. Looking at the specials board, I initially thought I'd like the Black Forest the most (Chocolate Fondant Gelato With Kirsch Cream, Cherry Jam And Kirsch Soaked Chocolate Sauce), but...

It was an unusually hot day for Autumn and I decided to pop into Pidapipo for some gelato. The texture of the gelato was delightful and smooth. The hazelnut was particularly delicious and my favourite of the two. Their gelato and sorbetto comes served with an option of cones or cups. One scoop is $4,...

For this balmy-day visit, I had the pear and rhubarb and a daily special flavour called Montgomery's Gold Mine (dark chocolate w. gold chocolate-coated honeycomb). The pear and rhubarb was deliciously smooth and creamy; my favourite flavour so far. The chocolate one was very strong, like dark chocolate, and I liked the extra textural element from the honeycomb. So, I'm not a huge ice cream person but a combination of factors such as the hot weather, Helados Juaja being almost directly opposite the bus stop and also the fact that the bus wasn't coming for another 10 minutes, all led to me making the impulse decision to get some Argentinian-style ice cream. I settled on the Toasted Black Sesame (which takes three days to make) and Cookies & Cream ($7.50). The afternoon sun was so intense that the ice cream started melting and dripping everywhere almost as...
