As one of the original tenants that opened its doors along with the launch of Emporium, New Shanghai's reputation for its dumplings has steadily grown. Kumo Izakaya & Sake Bar was just named best Japanese Restaurant in the Victorian metro region by Savour Australia and I was recently invited to a sake tasting dinner held at Kumo, hosted by owner, Andre Bishop. Masak Ku opened just last year, close to Camberwell station. Simon and Mary Lee have presented to us a more upmarket restaurant experience for Malaysian cuisine, rather than sticking to the more common casual, hawker style of eatery. Red Spice QV launched their brunch menu just last Sunday in a bid to introduce an adventurous take on classic favourites by with a modern, Asian twist.
