Being our second visit we decided to try different dishes, though A2 ordered some kitsune udon, which we had last time. Mum was a bit disappointed that the tekka don didn't come with nice slices of tuna, but the presentation was true to the photo in the menu. To celebrate the end of exams we headed out to Kenji - a Japanese restaurant mum has been wanting to try for ages. We decided to share nasu dengaku, agedashi tofu, a dragon roll and a platter of sushi and sashimi. Off to Zen for Mother's Day, a cosy little Japanese restaurant on Burwood Road. Me - Grilled teriyaki unagi ($23.90) A2 - Miso salmon grilled in foil ($20.90) Mum - Kaiseki bento ($27.90) Dad - Wafu steak ($23.90) There was also a large selection of sake available, and the menu included a short description of each one. The bento box came with miso soup, mixed rice, teriyaki chicken, sesame salad, sashimi, sushi, tempura and ice cream (a choice of sesame, green tea or vanilla). A2 said her salmon was tasteless. This restaurant, one of the few Japanese restaurants in Macau, didn’t open until 12pm so we killed some time by window shopping. We must have looked desperate to eat because we were hanging around the front of the restaurant for a while and we also there when they opened up the front grille.
