07 Apr T’Gallant Spuntino Bar, Main Ridge
A day trip to Mornington Peninsula over the Easter weekend meant winery visits and hot springs. Unfortunately the weather was terrible so we ended up only visiting one winery: T’Gallant in Main Ridge. I hadn’t eaten breakfast, so I needed fill my stomach with something before wine tasting and T’Gallant’s Spuntino Bar provided a convenient source of sustenance.
Not having too much of an appetite yet I had the Frivolities, which included fresh seasonal dip, cheese, olives and toasted ciabatta. I’m not sure what sort of cheese it was (and neither did the waitress), but it was a sort of semi-hard Italian cheese that was creamy and subtle in flavour. In contrast was the tangy and beautifully coloured beetroot dip.
Spuntino Bar also does pizza, which was a popular option that day. It comes in a long, rectangular shape and is available in small or regular sizes. The topping was OK, but the base was a little doughy and not really crispy.
