06 Dec Naughtons Parkville Hotel, Parkville
This Parkville pub/hotel was renovated not long ago and this is where my workplace had its Christmas dinner.
We had organised for a set menu, and my choices for the night were the prawns and chorizo for the entree and eye fillet steak as mains.
The description of my entree sounded like the prawns would be the hero ingredient, but it seemed like it was more about the potatoes because I only had about 3 prawns. The potatoes did have a nice crunch to them though; probably from being baked. The actual flavouring was good and the prawns were fresh, though it did seem like there was too much oil in the dish.
The steaks were presented on top of a bed of slightly crispy potatoes and a few slices of capsicum. All the eye fillet steaks were cooked to medium and had a lovely, crunchy pepper crust. I was much more impressed with the steak than the prawns.
