My first visit to this restaurant, located where the first site of Sichuan Dining Room (Sichuan Dining Room relocated up the road but has since closed down for good, which is a shame). No special occasion; mum couldn’t be bothered cooking today.
The tofu dish was quite nice and may be worth attempting at home; the egg yolk in the sauce made it taste so much better than if it weren’t added. The menu actually said ‘egg tofu and prawns’ so I originally thought it would have Japanese-style egg tofu. The fish soup was also good, but very spicy. It didn’t look was there was that much chilli in it. Mongolian beef was ordinary.
