We were going to have dinner at O’Neils because it was cheap, but children weren’t allowed in and it was too crowded and too much like a bar. Instead, we went to another pub called The Grapes, which also had really cheap food. I got a beef burger (two 4oz patties, mushroom, onion rings and salad instead of chips)(₤4.89), A2 had an asparagus and brie tart with salad (₤4.69), mum got a mixed grill (4oz runp steak, 5oz gammon steak, chicken breast, sausage, beans, mushrooms and two fried...

We checked into our hotel at Wexford at 7:00pm then had dinner at the restaurant inside, Stir. There was a special on for a family of four for €50. We got two courses from the adult menu and two from the kids menu. From the adult menu we ordered roast sirloin (dad), greek salad (A2), pan fried Irish salmon with creamy sauce, mash, green beans and carrot (mum and me), seafood chowder (mum and me) and tea and coffee. From the kids menu we got roast chicken breast...

We drove up to the town of Waterville, part of the Ring of Kerry, and had lunch at The Lobster, which was overpriced. Dad’s fish and chips were €12.95, mum’s seafood chowder (a small bowl with garlic bread) was €4.95 and my chicken sandwich, which was pretty much the same as the one I had bought earlier from a petrol station kiosk but with white bread, was €3.95. Here we bought a traditional wholegrain brown soda bread, a turnover and an apple danish. The brown bread crust tasted like the pretzel biscuits. The turnover had a really soft and fluffy texture. A2 and I ate half of both loaves so we were too full for lunch. Though I don’t mind eating the multigrain soda bread, I don’t really like it. [gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2"]...

We waited outside Wetherspoons for it to open for breakfast. Fifteen minutes later dad discovered that we were waiting at the wrong entrance. I think the entrance we were waiting at only opens for dinner; it was in a side street anyway, so it didn’t seem right. Wetherspoons was part of the same chain as the pub beside the Travelodge in York. Dad got a traditional breakfast (fried egg, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, black pudding, half a tomato, baked beans) and A2 and I shared a vegetarian breakfast (2...
