Learning from our experiences at other brunch places on Saturdays, K and I decided to catch up at Snow Pony at around 10am. We were able to find a table for two quite easily, though it did start to get quite busy towards the end of our visit. The eatery was actually much bigger than I imagined. As well as indoors seating, there was a little room tucked between the kitchen and the main dining area and also tables set up along the side of the building (next to the...

After perusing the menu we settled on sharing a kangaroo fillet burrito, which consisted of 12” tortilla (made by Abbotsford Convent bakery) filled with spiced black beans, pumpkin, fetta, salsa roja, pepitas ($16) We were told the kangaroo fillet would be cooked rare. Most of the pieces arrived being more like medium-well done, but I didn't mind since we weren't eating the kangaroo as a steak. There was a nice charcoal flavour around the outside. The tortilla was one of the best I've had so far: slightly browned but tender...

I've finally gotten around to visiting Three Bags Full, despite the fact that I've been living only a 5 minute drive away for more than 10 years. K and I arrived at 10am, which turned out to be better than the original time of 11am. By the time we left at 11:30 there was quite a queue. Izakaya Jiro opened late last year on Glenferrie Road so we thought we'd try out the new local restaurant for lunch. There's a wide range options on the lunch menu. Mum ordered the Tofu Steak Teishoku (Organic tofu with mixed mushroom teriyaki sauce, $9.80, came with rice, miso soup, salad & appetizer") - and I had the Seafood Bento (Mixed Seafood with Wafu Sauce served with Daily Appetizer, Assorted Tempura, Sushi, Sashimi, Steamed Rice, Miso soup, $16.80) [caption id="attachment_3449" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Seafood Bento ($16.8)[/caption] The appetiser for the day was a mix of sliced...

This visit was with mum, who ordered the spicy pork dosirak. I went with kimchi udon. I can't remember which one was $11 and which was $13. [caption id="attachment_3397" align="aligncenter" width="1417"] Spicy Pork Dosirak[/caption]   The dosirak came with finger food, similar to what was in my ddokbokki the other time, as well as salad and a slice of orange and canned peach. I quite enjoyed the texture and chew of the udon noodles. I haven't had udon like that for a while.   Seoul Soul 323 Victoria St Abbotsford, VIC, 3067 0478 768 760 http://www.seoulsoul.com.au/ ...
