Under new owners, the former Fred Young of Kew has recently been renovated and transformed into Now & Then Café. Robert Castellani has also taken over as head chef. We picked three dishes from the lunch menu, though in addition to the main menu they have a selection of salads, pastries and sweets in a cabinet. They appeared slightly understaffed; the main waiter seemed to be run off his feet. The Cabo Tacos were corn tacos filled with baja snapper, avocado, sweet coleslaw and mayo ($17). They were quite...

Not feeling that hungry, I picked cold tofu with minced meat sauce. An entrée of Taiwanese popcorn chicken was shared by the table. The tofu was smooth and fresh but I didn't find the sauce to be particularly flavoursome - adding some chilli made it nicer. The crispy yet juicy Taiwanese popcorn chicken was much better. My pork chipotle burrito bowl arrived within minutes of ordering. It had slow roasted and shredded pork shoulder, rice, black beans, tomato, coriander, onion and cheese. More...

I haven't been to any Korean restaurants away from the CBD so I was interested to see how this one compared. The price was comparable to the city joints I've visited so far, but the food was better than most. We ordered soondubu jjigae, spicy pork belly and squid and haemul jeongol for two (also available for three). All the dishes were tasty and satisfying with a nice and spicy kick from chilli powder. I also liked the slightly charred flavour in the osam bulgogi. It was quite a...

I quite like saltimbocca so I thought I'd give it a go here. What came out was not what I'd been visualising when I ordered. It seemed like the ham had been tossed with the veal rather than being layered on top and I also couldn't see any sage leaves. Although the meat was very hot, the surrounding sauce had already started to congeal when it was placed on the table; it didn't look particularly appetising. The flavours were still OK, though not outstanding, and at least the...
