For dinner tonight I had the Souvlaki Chicken Salad with Torn Tortilla, Cos, Tomato, Spanish Onion, Cucumber and Olives bound in Garlic Yoghurt Dressing ($17.50) There was a decent amount of chicken and a lot of olives. I did think there was a bit too much dressing though. K had a Beach Box Burger and I went with the tandoori chicken wrap. My wrap was mostly salad and would have been nicer if there was more balance with the meat. K was pretty happy with her burger The food was OK, but it did take a long time to come out despite it not being particularly busy. Fresh and light, with tender and well-seasoned cauliflower, nicely cooked trout and a creamy cauliflower puree, the salad was a joy to eat....

The duck salad special sold out shortly after we arrived.  A2's twice-baked blue cheese souffle was moist and she said it tasted especially good with the fresh salad. The crispy poached egg in the middle was an interesting addition to my veloute,...

As well as offering its salmon products for sale and running cooking classes, the Tassal salmon store in Kew also has a small cafe attached. Today we both ordered from the specials board. I had Crispy Skinned Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Mexican Salsa ($22) and A2 got Salmon Sashimi with Green Mango and Shoots ($17.50). The other specials on offer were a thai soup and char-grilled salmon with buttered potatoes and horseradish creme fraiche. As expected, the salmon in both dishes was very fresh. My salmon was beautifully cooked...
